How To Setup A Live Chat On Your Mortgage Website
Connect with leads instantly on your mortgage website! Here’s exactly how to set up a free live chat on your website!
Connecting with your leads has never been easier!
Today we’re going to show you exactly how to set up a live chat on your mortgage website.
And you can have it up and running in just a few minutes!
A live chat option will allow you to answer any questions your prospects may have. You can start a conversation instantly while a lead is browsing your site. And this is going to make a huge difference when converting your web traffic to leads.
Here’s how it’s done!
First, we are going to assume that you are using a Wordpress website. If you are only using your company cookie-cutter website, it’s time for you to upgrade to LoanSites. If you do sign up for LoanSites, you don’t need to read the rest of this article because we do this all for you.
Option 1: Facebook Messenger On Your Website
In today’s Facebook-driven world, the best live chat on your mortgage website is most likely through Facebook Messenger. This links your website directly with your Facebook Business Page so that your mortgage website visitors can chat directly with you on your website through Facebook. Cool, right!?
The best part about this is that it’s FREE and pretty easy to set up and install!
Here’s what you need before you begin (or just sign up for LoanSites and we do this all for you):
- Wordpress-Based Website
- Facebook Business Page
Ok, now here are the steps you need to follow in order to install the Facebook Messenger Live Chat on your website. Keep in mind that there are other ways to do this, but this is a very streamlined way:
- Login to your Wordpress and click on Plugins>Add New
- Search for LIVE CHAT WITH FACEBOOK MESSENGER by ZotaBox
- Install and Activate the plugin
- Follow the simple setup steps that ZotaBox provides to finalize the live chat on your mortgage website
- All Done!
After this is installed and setup, once a visitor goes on your website they will automatically see the Facebook Live Chat on your website. If they choose to start a chat, you’ll then get a Facebook notification just like you would for any other Facebook Messenger notification.
*** Zotabox does have a paid version of their app with extra features, but you really shouldn’t need any of their paid customization and the free version of Live Chat with Facebook Messenger should be sufficient for everything you need.
Option 2: Wordpress Live Chat Plugin
If you’d rather not use the Facebook Messenger Live Chat feature on your mortgage website, you do have other options. A Wordpress-Based Live Chat plugin that we’ve used in the past is WP LIVE CHAT SUPPORT.
This plugin works almost the exact same as the Facebook Messenger Live Chat plugin, other than it leaves Facebook out of the mix. So you would want to use this option if you either don’t have a Facebook Business Page (if you don’t, I highly suggest that you set one up), or if you would just rather not be attached to your Facebook Messenger (which I understand if that’s the case).
Here’s what you need before you begin (or just sign up for LoanSites and we do this all for you):
- WordPress-Based Website
- Facebook Business Page
Ok, now here are the steps you need to follow in order to install the a Wordpress based Live chat on your mortgage website. Keep in mind that there are other ways to do this, but this is a pretty simple way to do it:
- Login to your WordPress and click on Plugins>Add New
- Search for WP LIVE CHAT SUPPORT by WP-LiveChat
- Install and Activate the plugin
- Follow the simple setup steps that WP-LiveChat provides to finalize the live chat on your mortgage website
- All Done!
After you have this all setup on your mortgage website, once a visitor goes on your website they will automatically see the WP Live Chat on your site. If they choose to start a chat, you’ll then get a notification on the backend of your site to chat with them.
This Live Chat plugin also allows you to actually see when you have a visitor on your website, and you can then initiate the Live Chat with them. You can actually see what pages the website visitor is on to make your chat more ‘sneaky’.
You can also set the Live Chat box to just be an easy contact form, so your website visitor doesn’t need to go to the Contact Page on your site to leave you a message. That is a typical way this plugin is used if you know you aren’t going to be logged into the Live Chat feature on your website all day.
*** WP Live-Chat does have a paid version of their app with extra features, and you may actually want to consider buying the paid version depending on how much you want to customize your Live Chat box. We set up every LoanSites client with their own paid version of WP Live Chat and customize this all for them.
